About the role
Legacy Coop is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Information Systems Technician to join our IT Department in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. This hands-on support role focuses on the physical setup, installation, and maintenance of IT equipment and infrastructure under the direction of the Information Systems Manager. The position is full-time and in-person, with the ideal candidate living in or near Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Information Systems Manager with installation and deployment of IT hardware and related equipment.
- Run, route, label, and secure network, camera, and low-voltage cabling in offices, facilities, and operational spaces.
- Set up and mount cameras, monitors, workstations, peripherals, and related equipment.
- Connect wires, cables, power supplies, and communication lines according to established layouts and safety practices.
- Assemble, position, and organize IT equipment racks, devices, and support hardware.
- Prepare work areas for equipment installation, relocation, or replacement.
- Test basic hardware connections and confirm that installed equipment is physically connected and ready for manager-led configuration.
- Troubleshoot straightforward physical connectivity issues such as loose connections, damaged cables, misrouted lines, or equipment placement problems.
- Maintain orderly cable management and ensure clean, professional installation standards.
- Assist with facility-wide technology setups, relocations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Follow company safety procedures, site requirements, and installation instructions at all times.
- Communicate installation progress, issues, and material needs to the Information Systems Manager.
- Other duties as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in IT support, low-voltage cabling, equipment installation, maintenance, or a similar hands-on technical role preferred.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, network components, cabling types, and common IT equipment.
- Ability to use hand tools and perform physical installation work safely and efficiently.
- Ability to follow diagrams, instructions, checklists, and direction from the Information Systems Manager.
- Able to lift, carry, move, and position equipment and materials as required.
- Comfortable working on ladders, in ceilings, under desks, and in other installation environments as needed.
- Strong reliability, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on job site responsibilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience running Ethernet, camera, or other low-voltage cabling.
- Experience mounting cameras, displays, access devices, or related equipment.
- Familiarity with cable labeling, cable management, and basic testing tools.
