About the role
The Information Systems Manager leads and oversees all hospital and clinic information systems in support of high-quality, efficient patient care. Key responsibilities include planning, directing, and managing the design, maintenance, security, and optimization of information systems, aligning with operational goals and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership for system operations, infrastructure, and staff, including network management, software applications, system security, disaster recovery, and budgeting.
- Works closely with executive leadership, clinical departments, and external partners to evaluate system needs, implement improvements, and ensure reliable, secure technology that supports clinical and business workflows.
- Prepares for and supports the selection, implementation, and optimization of a new EHR system, including staff training, workflow redesign, vendor coordination, and change management.
Requirements
- Essential experience with electronic health records (EHRs).
- Experience with EHR implementations, upgrades, or system conversions is highly recommended.
- Demonstrated experience managing healthcare information systems in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related field.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a rural healthcare environment.
