Information Systems Clinical Specialist RN

About the role

This position is exempt and scheduled to work 40 hours per week. The Clinical Information Systems Specialist serves as the clinical liaison for the implementation, optimization, and support of clinical application systems throughout Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center. Utilizing clinical nursing expertise, this role collaborates closely with Information Services, clinical departments, and end users to ensure systems meet operational and patient care needs. The specialist helps define functional requirements, supports system development and implementation, facilitates communication between stakeholders, and promotes the effective use of technology to enhance clinical workflows and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the clinical liaison for the implementation, optimization, and support of clinical application systems throughout Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center.
  • Collaborates closely with Information Services, clinical departments, and end users to ensure systems meet operational and patient care needs.
  • Helps define functional requirements.
  • Supports system development and implementation.
  • Facilitates communication between stakeholders.
  • Promotes the effective use of technology to enhance clinical workflows and patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred, with Masters in Informatics strongly Preferred.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in acute care/ information technology preferred.
  • 2+ Years experience in Clinical Informatics strongly preferred.
  • Epic Certification Preferred.

Qualifications

  • Maintain current, active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado.

Skills

  • Strong clinical nursing expertise.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Epic and other clinical informatics tools.
