About the role

This position follows a hybrid work model supporting Corewell Health East campuses. Periodic onsite presence is expected to support meetings, events, and team or operational needs. This role supports the Vascular Surgery State and National Registries for Corewell Health East, with responsibilities including data abstraction, analysis, reporting, and driving quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Supports operational improvement projects throughout the organization including both clinical and non-clinical areas to accomplish measurable business process improvements.
  • Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing processes and helps to develop sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable clinical and business process improvements.
  • Collections and analyzes process and quality data to initiate, develop, and recommend operational practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced cost.
  • Maintains accountability for the integrity and functioning of databases. Will collect, enter and analyze data in a secure and confidential manner within the constructs of the specialty program.
  • Supports and drives improvement activities for accountable areas based on organizational priorities (project management, measurable deliverables, milestones, and data informed strategy).
  • Serves as a liaison between various departments across the Corewell Health System. Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a change agent to key stakeholders.
  • Ensures continuity and coordination of services with appropriate utilization of resources. Responsible for stakeholder management across collaboration within dept and organizational resources.
  • Drives continuous assessment and improvements using appropriate tools and methodology within the business, assists stakeholders and process owners in prioritizing improvement opportunities.
  • Utilizes clinical judgment to coordinate the retrieval of pertinent clinical and regulatory data ensuring timely submission to meet program requirements.
  • Collaborates with internal and external programming staff to maintain the integrity, functioning and ongoing maintenance of databases.
  • Collaborate with clinical team, providing analysis and insight based on data collected and communicates finding to key stakeholders to drive strategic improvement work.
  • Maintains understanding of Quality rules and regulations for The Joint Commission and CMS.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent in healthcare or related field
  • 2 years of Nursing experience
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan upon hire
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in healthcare or related field
  • Strong understanding of quality improvement methodologies
  • 1 year of experience with chart review, relevant clinical experience and/or Quality Improvement experience
  • 1 year of experience with participation on improvement initiatives
  • CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - Institute for Healthcare improvement (IHI), IHI Open School
