About the role

The Information Security Analyst is a key member of the Incident Response team responsible for handling security events and the administration of DUO Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), a critical security control for UC San Diego Health.

Responsibilities

  • Handle security event investigations and incident response, including determining if compromises have occurred and managing remediation activities.
  • Devolve and perform critical alert and remediation processes on the Information Security team.
  • Administer critical security tools such as MFA, email security, and log analysis during investigations.
  • Participate in a 7/24 on-call rotation to handle security-related inquiries and incidents.

Requirements

  • Minimum of nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, or a Bachelor’s degree in related area with five (5) years of related experience/training.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Advanced experience using IT security systems and tools.
  • Broad knowledge of other areas of IT.
  • Advanced knowledge of data encryption technologies and experience selecting and applying appropriate data encryption technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of secure hardware, software, and network design techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network security issues and approaches.
  • Advanced experience in incident response and digital forensics including reporting.

Qualifications

  • Related Information Security experience including Incident Response, Email security, and experience with administering security tools.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
  • Advanced experience using IT security systems and tools.
  • Broad knowledge of other areas of IT.
  • Advanced knowledge of data encryption technologies and experience selecting and applying appropriate data encryption technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of secure hardware, software, and network design techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network security issues and approaches.
  • Advanced experience in incident response and digital forensics including reporting.

Skills

Schedule

The position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Towne Centre Drive (San Diego, CA) and remotely.
