About the role

The Information Governance Matter Mobility Review Analyst is an integral part of Latham & Watkins' Global Information Governance (IG) team. This role will be responsible for conducting file release and intake document reviews and supporting the workflow of a team that assists staff and attorneys across the firm with file transfers into and out of the firm, while providing centrally coordinated document review support to Practice Office IG Operations teams and assisting with matter mobility review activities, ensuring reviews are completed accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Developing plans, organizing files and work-flow, and assuming responsibility for the completion of review projects
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and ensuring completion of the matter mobility process; responding to questions, and providing guidance and training as needed
  • Exercising judgment in ensuring that firm policies and procedures are followed, and understanding how ethical and legal obligations impact the storage, organization, and transfer of data in a global environment
  • Advising attorneys, legal professionals and staff about information management best practices, data privacy and security issues, and other risk management issues
  • Communicating effectively with the Lateral Partner Onboarding team and other teams outside of IG that play a role in the Matter Mobility process; working with relevant Technology department personnel to properly configure and conduct IG-related reviews using litigation support applications
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Qualifications

  • Possess working knowledge of information governance, data security and privacy principles, best practices, and procedures
  • Display strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the physical and electronic resources of the department and firm

Pay

USD $80,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 /Yr.
