• Receive and assist patients/visitors, directing them to appropriate hospital locations.
• Answer incoming telephone calls to provide general and patient‑related information using an online computer.
• Retrieve patient information from computer, provide room number, issue visitor passes, and direct visitors.
• Follow procedures for visiting restrictions.
• Provide general information to visitors or callers (visiting hours, number of visitors per patient, hospital services); route calls, page, or take messages for physicians.
• Maintain visitor pass file, ensuring adequate supply and replacing missing or soiled passes.
• Input visiting restrictions into the online computer as requested by nursing, security, or patients.
• Arrange transportation for patients (taxi, home, nursing home, etc.) and to hospital departments as needed.
