Information Assurance Specialist Journeyman (*2813)

Duties And Responsibilities

• Identify, counter, and mitigate system vulnerabilities and threats to the various network components.
• Develop, evaluate, coordinate, and disseminate security tools and procedures.
• Provide system security in accordance with DoD, DoN, and local policy.
• Restore services, capabilities, and security of network in the event of compromise.
• Perform risk assessments, accreditation, data calls, vulnerability assessments, and information assurance requirements.
• Document security policy and documentation.
• Monitor, audit, and test systems and networks for possible security problems.
• Investigate anomalies in security logs files on a daily basis.
• Test, install, and maintain security infrastructure tools that are Navy approved.
• Test and install patches and fixes for security vulnerabilities in vendor software on all servers and workstations affected.
• Provide investigation, coordination, reporting, and follow-up of network security incidents.
• Provide analysis of internal projects that may have an impact on the security of the Network.
• Apply Security patches and operating system updates as required by DoD and DoN.
• Install and update anti-virus software and update virus signature files.

Requirements

• Active clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Field desired.
• Relevant experience performing the duties explained in the job announcement.

Qualifications

• High School Degree.

Skills
