Responsibilities
- EPICTrack, maintain, prioritize and manage Pharmacy EPIC maintenance/enhancement requests
- Assesses problems and recommends solutions related to Epic interfaced Pharmacy applications and the medication dispensing process
- Performs Systems Assessments
- Works with Pharmacy Department - Inpatient, Retail, Specialty, Homecare to determine operational needs and available technology options
- Performs continual assessment of available application enhancements and department requirements to facilitate continued improvements in software capability
- Supports application implementation, upgrades and maintenance where applicable
- Performs Software installations, database maintenance, identifies interface requirements, and validates implemented logic
- Assists in initial and on-going user training and education in the use of new department applications
- Participates in project planning and prepares/reviews project documentation
- Communicates enhancement requests to application vendors
- Maintains infusion pump libraries for various brands and coordinates new library releases
- Manages and updates pump library databases
- Prepares quarterly status summaries of submitted Pharmacy change/maintenance/enhancement requests
- Collaborates with department leadership to prioritize and present project requests to Pharmacy/IS leadership
- Participates in weekly Formulary Technology committee meetings
- Monitors Pharmacy Informatics Status
- Assists with staff training, particularly in conjunction with new implementations and significant upgrades
- Communicates enhancement requests to application vendors
- Maintains infusion pump libraries for CareFusion Alaris pumps, Medfusion pumps, B. Braun pumps, and CADD Solis Epidural pumps
- Updates pump library databases per recommendations of the Infusion Pump Data Set Advisory Group and Medication Safety Team
- Coordinates new library releases with Medication Safety, Epic Willow, and Biomedical Engineering
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy - Required
- Doctorate in Pharmacy - Preferred
- At least two (2) years Pharmacy experience in a hospital - Required
- PGY1 Residency training or equivalent clinical experience - Preferred
- PGY2 in Pharmacy Informatics, Master's Degree in Healthcare Informatics or equivalent Informatics experience - Preferred
Qualifications
- Knowledge of contemporary hospital/clinical practice and service and understanding of general hospital operations
- Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to translate computer technology to user friendly language
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of pharmacy and the medication use process, pump technologies and databases, perpetual inventory management software, automated dispensing cabinets, medication carousels, dispensing robots, point-of-sale cash registers, and barcode medication administration
- Strong project management skills through project plan development, tracking and workflow analysis
Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional aptitude or knowledge may be considered in lieu of experience (Preferred proficiency)
- 340B split-billing software (Preferred proficiency)
Education
- Licensed Pharmacist (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire

$117,900.00 - $156,300.00 Annually
