Inforce, Claims Processor

About the role

The In-Force, Claims Processor position at Group 1001 is responsible for reviewing and processing death claim transactions on annuity contracts. This role focuses primarily on annuity claims but also assists with other types of annuity In-Force transactions.

Responsibilities

• Setting up the initial claim notification
• Learning, retaining, and updating knowledge of a wide variety of financial product information and internal processes and procedures, while adhering to strict financial industry rules and regulations
• Aid in processing other types of Annuity In-Force transactions as needed
• Provide information regarding contract values, request status updates, withdrawals, fund performance, outstanding requirements, and any other transaction related to Annuity In-Force
• Support both Agent/Advisors and Clients with all Annuity In-Force requests via phone and email
• Communicate requirements, settlement options, and claim status with beneficiaries, agents, attorneys, and clients
• Process and approve claim payments, generate settlement confirmation letters, and track all claim settlements
• Affiliate in special projects as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of operational/claims or processing experience or a combination is preferred

• Proven ability to communicate effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of the annuity market, with specific focus on the fixed, fixed indexed, and variable annuities
