Claims Processor
About the role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to apply their billing and coding knowledge in a professional healthcare environment. While prior claims processing experience is welcome, it is not required. We are willing to train motivated individuals who have a strong foundation in medical billing and coding and a desire to learn.
Responsibilities
- Review and process medical, dental, and vision claims
- Analyze claim information for accuracy and completeness
- Verify member eligibility, benefits, and prior authorizations
- Research claim discrepancies and determine appropriate next steps
- Calculate benefits and adjudicate claims according to plan guidelines
- Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation
- Process claim adjustments and corrections
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect confidential information
- Meet quality and productivity standards while developing your healthcare claims expertise
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in Medical Billing & Coding (required)
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Typing speed of approximately 40 WPM and strong data entry skills
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new processes, and work independently in a remote environment
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Medical Billing & Coding program
- Internship, externship, classroom training, or hands-on experience related to medical billing, coding, healthcare administration, or revenue cycle operations
- Familiarity with UB-04 and CMS-1500 (HCFA) claim forms
- Healthcare customer service, administrative, or clerical experience
Skills

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following:
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Full-time remote after training and production readiness
