Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist
Nature and Scope
The position provides antimicrobial stewardship and infectious diseases services across Renown Health’s acute care, rehabilitation, primary care, and urgent care settings. The primary responsibility involves reviewing abnormal microbiology results following discharge or outpatient visits, evaluating antimicrobial therapy, contacting patients as needed, and implementing therapy changes under a collaborative practice agreement to optimize outcomes and patient safety. The pharmacist also manages patients with HIV and Hepatitis C, provides PrEP and PEP services, and delivers medication counseling and ongoing clinical monitoring for the Infectious Diseases Clinic. As a key member of the interdisciplinary team, this role promotes appropriate antimicrobial use, ensures timely follow-up of diagnostic results, and supports high-quality, patient-centered care.
Requirements
Completion of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an ACPE accredited pharmacy program or 10 years of experience in acute care pharmacy is required.
Completion of a Pharmacy Residency or equivalent training program in clinical pharmacy is preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Pharmacist license (status Active or Temporary) required at time of hire.
Ability to obtain and maintain Healthcare Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first 90 days of employment is required for all locations.
Ability to obtain and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required for location 200211, 200212, 200234, 200237, 200321 and 400211.
Ability to obtain and maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required for Pediatric, Critical Care, or Emergency Medicine shifts.
Computer / Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. Type 25 WPM.
