Infectious Disease Physician — New Jersey

About the role

RWJ Barnabas Health has an immediate opportunity for a full-time 100% Infectious Disease position with a well-established private practice in Central New Jersey. The position is inpatient-focused with a selective outpatient schedule (no nursing homes).

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient infectious disease consultations at the affiliated 500+ bed teaching hospital for a wide range of complex infectious diseases.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, surgeons, intensivists, and other specialists to guide diagnosis and management of infectious disease cases.
• Interpret and recommend appropriate use of microbiological, serological, and molecular diagnostic studies.
• Lead antibiotic stewardship initiatives in collaboration with pharmacy and hospital administration.
• Participate in infection prevention and control activities within the hospital.
• Manage HIV/AIDS and other complex immunocompromised patients in the inpatient setting.
• Conduct weekly outpatient clinic session for follow-up and infectious disease conditions.

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible in Infectious Diseases.
• Passion for teaching and academic medicine.
