Job Overview/Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Infectious Disease Physician to provide specialized wound care and infectious disease management in post-acute care settings. This role focuses on bedside care in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACHs), offering a balanced schedule with no call or weekend responsibilities and flexible part-time or full-time options.
Responsibilities
- Deliver modern wound management and infectious disease care at the bedside in post-acute care facilities.
- Conduct weekly wound rounds at assigned Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with complex wounds and infectious conditions.
- Visit 2–3 facilities per day, treating approximately 20–30 patients per day.
- Perform real-time clinical documentation at the point of care using a proprietary wound-specific EMR.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Travel within a 40–60 mile radius of the primary practice location as part of this mobile practice.
- Adhere to clinical protocols, quality standards, and documentation requirements.
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease (preferred)
- Minimum availability of 3 weekdays per week
- Strong communication and organizational skills
