About the role
The Division of Infectious Diseases of Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine seeks applicants for a new Clinician Educator in the subspecialty of Orthopedic Musculoskeletal Infectious Diseases (Ortho/MSK).
Responsibilities
- Teaching Time and effort shall be devoted to teaching and teaching-related activities. This shall include medical students, dental students, graduate students, allied health students, residents, fellows, and colleagues where appropriate.
- Research Time and effort shall be devoted to funded research-related activities. Efforts to obtain funding for your research in areas of focus consistent with the mission of the School of Medicine and Department must be demonstrated during your employment.
- Clinical Time and effort shall be devoted to the provision of clinical services. You are expected to maintain a practice in Orthopedic Musculoskeletal Infectious Diseases (Ortho/MSK) to include approximately 20 weeks on inpatient service per year. You are expected to integrate students and residents into this service.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Board eligible/board certified M.D. (or equivalent M.B.B.S or D.O.) with experience in infectious diseases or a closely related discipline, minimum of one year of clinical experience with Orthopedic Musculoskeletal Infectious Diseases, record of publication and conference dissemination demonstrating expertise in the faculty’s area of research, demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
