Education

Graduate of an accredited RN or LPN school of nursing with current AR licensure.

Training and Experience

  • Three years’ experience in clinical practice.
  • Experience in healthcare infection control, associate health, and data analytics desired.

Job Knowledge

  • Understanding of the principles of asepsis, epidemiology, microbiology, the development of policy and procedures, patient care practices, group dynamics, and knowledge of adult education principles necessary.
  • Basic understanding of regulatory processes and guidelines of Arkansas Department of Health, CIHQ, CDC, OSHA and other applicable regulatory agencies desirable.
  • Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements such as OSHA, occupational health and safety practices, evaluate medical treatment for associate injuries, physical requirements of jobs, associate health issues.
  • Competent in use of computers, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Brief knowledge of Quality Improvement in the healthcare setting.

Any associate that is actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a “safety sensitive” position.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and compliance regarding infection control practices and surveillance activities and infection control policy and procedures.
  • Coordination and compliance regarding associate health issues, immunizations, TB skin tests.
  • Develops and implements policy and procedures.
  • Processes associate injury reports and Worker Compensation Claims.
  • Prepares statistical reports, meeting minutes, orientation and in-service related materials and typing policies, procedures, and other related correspondence.
  • Demonstrates the ability to compile relevant data sources into meaningful reports for use in PI and decision making by the Director and administrative staff.

Other Duties

  • Supports the organization’s customer service strategy through communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains flexible work hours.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
