Infant/Toddler Teaching Assistant - Full Time Float

About the role

The Congressional School is seeking a fun and dynamic individual to work as a full-time Early Childhood Teaching Assistant in their Infant/Toddler program. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children aged 6 weeks to 2 years old.

Responsibilities

• Join a collaborative classroom team and assist in planning and implementing the daily program
• Actively supervise the classroom and playgrounds
• Observe, interact, and engage with children
• Maintain proper adult to child ratios with each age grouping and classroom
• Monitor the playground and classroom at all times
• Help with meals, and snacks
• Follow daily staffing schedule and assist other classrooms as needed

Requirements

• Experience working with infants and toddlers
• Bachelor's degree in a child related field or a child development/early childhood credential
• Able to lift or carry children weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the course of the day
• Able to bend, stoop, and crouch to physically interact with children and ensure their safety
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively with children, parents, and co-workers

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have experience working with infants and toddlers. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a child related field or a child development/early childhood credential.

Skills

• Ability to lift or carry children weighing up to 25 pounds
• Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch
• Clear and effective communication skills

Pay

Starting hourly rate is $17.00 per hour and up based on experience.

Schedule

Work day begins at 9:00 am and traditional concludes at 6:00pm, with a 1 hour break.
