Essential Functions
- Aid Leads, Teachers, and Director in implementing curriculum and activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and other routines
- Prepare and distribute classroom supplies
- Assist with setting up and cleaning up learning centers and materials
- Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, and other basic care routines
- Engage children in play and learning experiences
- Facilitate small group activities and provide individual attention
- Read stories to children and engage them in activities
- Monitor children during playtime and transitions
- Observe and document children’s behavior and progress
- Communicate findings to Lead Teachers and parents
- Support children's learning through hands-on experiences
- Facilitate open and positive communication with parents
- Collaborate with other staff members for smooth classroom operations
- Support special events, field trips, and holiday celebrations
- Assist with other duties as assigned
- Enforce classroom rules and manage behavior issues
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
- Maintain children's hygiene needs
Hours
Wednesday: 8-hour shift
Closes preschool in the afternoons
Opportunity for Increased Hours
Available to cover staff time off/sick time
Education and Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required
- Previous experience working with toddlers in a childcare setting preferred
- Knowledge of infant development and age-appropriate practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, compassion, and genuine love for working with toddlers
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Pass a background check and comply with state licensing requirements
