Essential Functions

  • Aid Leads, Teachers, and Director in implementing curriculum and activities
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
  • Supervise children during playtime, meals, and other routines
  • Prepare and distribute classroom supplies
  • Assist with setting up and cleaning up learning centers and materials
  • Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, and other basic care routines
  • Engage children in play and learning experiences
  • Facilitate small group activities and provide individual attention
  • Read stories to children and engage them in activities
  • Monitor children during playtime and transitions
  • Observe and document children’s behavior and progress
  • Communicate findings to Lead Teachers and parents
  • Support children's learning through hands-on experiences
  • Facilitate open and positive communication with parents
  • Collaborate with other staff members for smooth classroom operations
  • Support special events, field trips, and holiday celebrations
  • Assist with other duties as assigned
  • Enforce classroom rules and manage behavior issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
  • Maintain children's hygiene needs

Hours

Wednesday: 8-hour shift
Closes preschool in the afternoons

Opportunity for Increased Hours

Available to cover staff time off/sick time

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required
  • Previous experience working with toddlers in a childcare setting preferred
  • Knowledge of infant development and age-appropriate practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, compassion, and genuine love for working with toddlers
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Pass a background check and comply with state licensing requirements
