Infant/Toddler Educator, Early Head Start, Vacancy CE-75-26 - (REPOST) OPEN UNTIL FILLED

Under the supervision and direction of the Master Teacher, performs duties to assist in planning and implementing a comprehensive full-year child development program for infants and toddlers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing a comprehensive child development program for infants and toddlers.
• Perform duties in a classroom environment with constant interruptions.
• Conduct home visits as required.
• Drive a personal vehicle for job-related functions.

Requirements

• California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher (copy required from ctc.ca.gov).
• Three units in infant/toddler care development (college transcripts required).
• Valid Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification (copy of front and back of card required; online classes not accepted).
• Graduation from high school.
• One year of experience in an early childhood setting preferred.
• Enrollment in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in child development or related field preferred.
• Must comply with Senate Bill 792 immunization requirements for influenza, pertussis, and measles.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Pre-employment requirements

• Official transcripts.
• DOJ/FBI/CACI fingerprint clearance.
• TB clearance.
• Pre-employment physical, drug screen, and lift clearance.

Pay

Pay range: $21.75 - $26.64 per hour. Initial salary placement is restricted to a maximum of Step 3 ($24.22) for external applicants (Range 7, CFS CSEA Classified Salary Schedule).

Schedule

247 work days / 261 paid days per year, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM). Full-time position.

Benefits

A benefit entitlement for health, dental, and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
