About This Role
The Riverfront Children's Center, a non profit Early Childhood Education program, is looking for enthusiastic qualified staff members to work in Early Childhood Infant/Toddler classrooms.
What You'll Do
Working with another Early Childhood Education Teacher in the classroom you will:
- Plan and implement lesson plans using CT Early Learning Developmental Standards and Teaching Strategies, LLC
- Interact in a positive and encouraging manner with children
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment
- Engage children in play-based learning through large and small group and one-on-one activities
- Family engagement, communicate daily with parents
Requirements
- Current CDA with 12 ECE Core credits, and enrolled in a program that will lead to an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in ECE or related field to be completed within 3 years of the time of hire or Associates Degree in ECE or relevant field with 12 ECE Core credits or Bachelors Degree in ECE or relevant field with 12 ECE Core credits
- Candidates must pass required state background check
- Demonstrated experience working with children or excellent customer service
- Upon hire must have documentation of a physical examination, to be repeated every two years
- Have or obtain CT First Aid and Infant/Child CPR certification
- Have or obtain Medication Administration certification including Epi Pen administration
- Continue professional development and attend all center sponsored trainings
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and to bend, kneel, squat and sit on floor
- Available to work 40 hours per week/52 weeks per year
- Riverfront Children's Center requires staff to be available from 6:00AM – 5:00PM, for an 8 hour shift, to cover center operational hours

Pay
- Minimum yearly wage: $37,440.00 - High School Diploma/GED or CDA and willing to enroll in a degree program
- $44,720.00 - CDA with 12 ECE credits & enrolled in an Associates or Bachelors program
- $45,760.00 - Associates Degree in ECE or relevant field with 12 credits in ECE
- $46,800.00 - Bachelor's Degree in ECE or relevant field with 12 credits in ECE
