Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred)
• Candidates with a Child Development Associate credential will also be considered
• Two to three years of experience in a licensed early childhood education setting preferred
• Lead teacher or classroom leadership experience preferred
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
• Patient, dependable, professional, and able to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Able to obtain and maintain all Pennsylvania-required child care clearances and background checks
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds while caring for and supervising children

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences using the Wonder of Learning® curriculum
• Provide responsive, individualized care that supports children’s routines and overall development
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, organized, and inclusive classroom
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate regularly about children’s experiences and progress
• Observe and document children’s development to guide classroom planning
• Use positive guidance strategies that support social-emotional growth
• Lead and support classroom team members while collaborating with school leadership
• Follow all licensing, health, safety, and supervision requirements
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
