Industrialization and Technical Support Engineer

About the role

Manage Industrial Trials in accordance with the R&D roadmap, including formulations, process charts, related paperwork, recording documents, and processes. Ensure technical support and troubleshooting to all departments. Follow up autonomously on assigned projects in line with R&D management guidelines. Develop new products and processes, optimize current solutions, and propose continuous improvements for processes, products, and programs.

Responsibilities

• Industrialization
  • Ensure new product and equipment qualifications align with the R&D program and management priorities.
  • Organize opening and closing reviews with quality, purchasing, and industrial teams.
  • Build development plans, manage milestones, and timelines for projects.
  • Prepare documentation for trial formulations and process flow charts.
  • Validate trials based on chemical specifications, yields, and palatability.
  • Communicate trial conclusions to management via reports.
  • Ensure follow-up after product validation in production (first 10 production batches).
• Production Recipes Management
  • Schedule trials with production to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Create Bills of Material in ERP systems.
  • Validate and update formulas and process charts.
  • Modify formulas to address temporary shortages of raw materials or ingredients.
  • Ensure adherence to formulation and process requirements.
  • Adapt products and processes to industrial constraints.
  • Provide formulas for rework.
• Project Management and Formulation
  • Manage new product implementation from pilot phase to industrialization and launch, focusing on performance, cost, time, ROI, process capability, and quality control.
  • Oversee project execution, including pilots, coatings, test planning, traceability, and paperwork management.
  • Interpret palatability tests and analytical results, synthesize project findings, and report to management.
  • Coordinate the scale-up and industrialization of new products.
  • Serve as the local point of contact for global projects, propose action plans, and provide regular updates.
  • Interact with suppliers, external parties, and customers as needed.
• Initiatives
  • Propose and lead actions to improve the R&D organization.
  • Report system malfunctions to management, implement short-term corrective actions, and propose long-term solutions.
  • Continuously improve communication systems (paperwork, digital tools, etc.).
  • Follow up autonomously on R&D projects and make independent decisions on project progression.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in food processing, food sciences and technologies, or chemistry is required. A master's degree in these fields is preferred.
• 1 to 5 years of work experience.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Industrial environment background (e.g., production management, optimization, process engineering) is a plus.
