About the Role
A technician in this role provides crucial support for various operations within Kennecott Smelter. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe environment by vacuuming materials such as silica and other mining materials that fall off conveyor belts, minimizing hazards. Technicians also use firehoses to spray materials like slag off conveyor belts and clear blockages in pipes to ensure smooth flow. Additionally, they perform hydroblasting tasks, particularly clearing obstructed gas fans and pipes.
This job involves significant physical demands, including moving up and down stairs, handling heavy equipment, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
Requirements
- Must be over 21 years of age
- Valid Driver License
- Must have a clean-shaven appearance
- Must be able to work rotating shift work
- Physically fit for physical work requirements (including Respirator Fit Test)
- Onboarding and random drug testing
