About the role
As a Service Technician, you play a critical role in keeping industrial businesses' operations running safely, accurately, and efficiently. Your responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, calibrations, repairs, and installations on industrial weighing equipment, diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems, and communicating clearly with customers regarding findings, next steps, and service plans.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, repairs, and installations on industrial weighing equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems
- Plan and execute service calls efficiently, ensuring work is completed safely and correctly
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings, next steps, and service plans
- Document all work accurately, including calibration data, service notes, timekeeping, and customer sign-offs
- Maintain tools, inventory, and company equipment according to policy
- Identify safety risks on job sites and proactively mitigate hazards
- Collaborate with CIS service and sales teams to support customer relationships and identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or service improvements
- Participate in an on-call rotation and work overtime as needed to meet customer demand
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- An associate degree or technical training in electronics, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred
- A mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of electrical theory
- Experience troubleshooting industrial, mechanical, or electromechanical equipment
- Comfort working in different environments and customer locations daily
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to document work clearly and accurately using digital tools (ERP, CRM, service dispatch systems)
- A self-starter who can work independently while also contributing to a team
- Willingness to obtain a CDL within six months of hire (company-supported)
- A valid driver’s license and ability to meet DOT and customer requirements
- Experience in weighing, metrology, construction sites, rigging, or industrial installations is a strong plus but not required for the right candidate
