Industrial Refrigeration Technician

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operations, repairs, replacement, and preventative maintenance of commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment.
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration equipment, including:
• Understanding of the refrigeration circuit
• Superheating and subcooling
• TXV/Orifice operations
• Leak checks (electronically and pressurized)
• Soldering, brazing, and piping
• Reciprocating compressor operation
• Use of different types of compressor oils
• Electrical circuits and processors
• Defrost clocks
• Defrost heaters
• Contacts, relays, and other components
• Work with the Dispatch Team to ensure workload is completed in a complete and timely manner.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5 years of experience in maintaining similar type and size commercial equipment
• Current Universal CFC certification
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices
• Ability to stand, sit, or squat for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift, move, and carry material up to 50 lbs
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at extended heights
• Ability to operate scissors and boom lifts
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Working knowledge of desktop computers and Internet-based programs

Pay

• $47.60 - $57.18 per hour

Schedule

• Hourly rate determined by CBA/rate sheet and test results
