Industrial Project Architect (Southeast)
About the role
The Southeast Region Architecture Group at HDR is seeking an Industrial Project Architect to join our dynamic team. This role offers opportunities to work on a diverse range of projects including data centers, water treatment facilities, public utility facilities, operations centers, aerospace, manufacturing, and more.
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams to successfully complete and deliver construction documents and intermediate milestone deliverables.
- Manage and undertake design activities and the production of detailed documents required for construction.
- Independently coordinate the work of a multidisciplinary team through all phases of a project.
- Review architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
- Write and edit architectural specifications.
- Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders.
- Incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents.
- Provide construction observation and contract administration as needed.
- Conduct work sessions at project site in conjunction with Client Representatives, Project Managers and other disciplines.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Architecture
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant prior experience in industrial architecture
- LEED Accreditation with experience and/or interest in sustainable design
- Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff
- Experience facilitating meetings with a range of stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference given to candidates currently residing in the Charlotte/Raleigh, NC or Atlanta, GA area
- US Citizenship required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
- A minimum of 5 years experience
- Registered Architect
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
- Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
- Experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications
- Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills
