About the role

The Southeast Region Architecture Group at HDR is seeking an Industrial Project Architect to join our dynamic team. This position offers opportunities to work on a diverse range of projects including data centers, water treatment facilities, and advanced manufacturing plants.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams to successfully complete and deliver construction documents and intermediate milestone deliverables.
  • Manage and undertake design activities and the production of detailed documents required for construction.
  • Independently coordinate the work of a multidisciplinary team through all phases of a project.
  • Review architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
  • Write and edit architectural specifications.
  • Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders.
  • Incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents.
  • Provide construction observation and contract administration as needed.
  • Conduct work sessions at project site in conjunction with Client Representatives, Project Managers and other disciplines.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Architecture with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant prior experience in industrial architecture.
  • LEED Accreditation with experience and/or interest in sustainable design.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Experience facilitating meetings with a range of stakeholders, such as engineers, client, contractors, subcontractors, AHJs, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently residing in the Charlotte/Raleigh, NC or Atlanta, GA area.
  • US Citizenship is required due to client contract requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience as a Registered Architect.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule).
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process.
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
  • Experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
