Industrial Polisher

About the role

CEIS Power is seeking an Entry-Level Industrial Polisher to support the finishing and preparation of metal turbomachinery components. This position is based in Canastota, New York, and our client, an industrial manufacturing and repair company, is looking for a motivated individual to join their fast-paced growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and is interested in learning industrial polishing, grinding, deburring, and metal finishing techniques. Previous polishing experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform basic polishing, blending, deburring, and grinding of metal components
• Operate belt grinders, hand grinders, pencil grinders, and other finishing equipment after training
• Assist with preparing metal components for repair, assembly, or shipment
• Perform visual inspections of parts and identify obvious defects or unfinished areas
• Use basic measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers as needed
• Clean, package, and label finished parts
• Assist with shot peening and glass bead operations as trained
• Perform daily housekeeping and basic machine cleaning
• Safely use hand tools and power tools
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
• Assist the Polish Lead and Supervisor with additional shop duties as needed

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on manufacturing or shop work
• Experience using basic hand and power tools preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and learn new processes
• Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow safety procedures and quality requirements
• Forklift experience is a plus but not required
• Auto body, fabrication, manufacturing, or general shop experience is a plus
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
