About the role

Assist the Paint WC Lead in all aspects of industrial painting. This is a full-time, hourly position working 40 hours per week on-site in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Prep materials for paint by grinding, sanding, de-greasing, seam sealing, etc.
• Stage materials for paint both pre and post paint.
• Assist with sand blast coordination.
• Act as a backup to the Paint WC Lead to fill in when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Take initiative by recognizing the need and completing tasks before management assigns them.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and man-lifts.
• Promote and contribute to a continuous improvement culture.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1+ years’ experience in an industrial painting environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent (basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be organized and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• This position cannot be done remotely; hands-on work in the factory is required.

Working conditions

• Normal for a manufacturing environment, with machinery operation requiring safety equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety toe work boots, hardhats, etc.).
• Physical demands include medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
• Essential physical activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
• Visual acuity requirements: close visual inspection for small defects, parts, and operation of machines.
• Exposure to noise (sufficient to require shouting to be heard), hazards (moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, scaffolding, high places, chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation), and oils.
