Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Determine best application practices for all paints/coatings based upon customer specification requirements and product technical information data.
  • Prepare and apply customer specified coatings to achieve film thickness, gloss, and appearance standards to meet all specifications.
  • Inspect finished products for defects like runs or sags and use dry film thickness gauges to ensure compliance with OEM standards.
  • Absorb and apply customer specifications for coatings.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and secure paint storage area consistent with best 6S practices.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials and waste disposal, wearing PPE (goggles, respirators) and ensuring proper ventilation.
  • Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
  • Observe SIC & Client safety processes and procedures at all times.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by the Site Maintenance Manager.

Physical Demands

  • Working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses.
  • Frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings.
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
  • Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises.
  • Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings.
  • Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment.
  • Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position.
  • Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
  • Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working on ladders, and in awkward body positions.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Skills

Acceptable visual acuity includes color differentiation.

Demonstrate ability to read paint/coating formulas and mix paint/coatings accurately.

Thorough working knowledge of surface preparation techniques such as finishing, filler material, sealing, color mixing, and masking.

Ability to read shop orders, blueprints, and safety data sheets (SDS).
