Industrial Painter
About the role
Loenbro is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Painter to join our Coatings Division. The ideal candidate will have experience in applying various industrial coatings to metal surfaces, machinery, and other industrial structures. You will play a critical role in ensuring that all surfaces are properly prepared and coated to meet strict quality standards for durability, appearance, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, blasting, and masking to ensure proper adhesion of coatings.
- Apply industrial coatings, including primers, epoxy, urethane, and specialized finishes using spray guns, rollers, or brushes.
- Mix and match paints and coatings according to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Perform inspections to ensure quality, thickness, and uniformity of the coating.
- Operate and maintain spray equipment, compressors, and other tools safely and effectively.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain clean work areas and ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an industrial painter, preferably in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in using various coating application techniques (airless spray, conventional spray, etc.).
- Knowledge of coating types, including epoxies, polyurethanes, and zinc-based primers.
- Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and coating specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in industrial environments, including OSHA guidelines.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in industrial painting or coatings application.
- Experience with abrasive blasting.
- Forklift or other heavy equipment certification.
