Industrial Motor and Drives Technician – Salt Lake City, Utah

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, drives, and associated equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial motor and drive systems
• Use diagnostic tools and laptop-based software to identify and resolve issues
• Conduct equipment start-ups and perform warranty service
• Communicate repair needs and service findings with customers and the service manager
• Maintain accurate daily records of time, service calls, and expenses
• Manage parts inventory on the service truck
• Keep work areas clean and presentable after each job
• Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule
• Read, interpret, and troubleshoot from electrical wiring schematics

Requirements

• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Strong communicators with excellent customer-service skills
• Mechanically and electrically inclined
• Eager to continue training and growing their technical expertise

Preferred Technical Experience

• Generator, motor, drive, and AC system diagnostics
• AC/DC electrical systems and HVAC troubleshooting
• Basic diesel engine operation and maintenance
• Power generation equipment (3+ years preferred)
• Welding (a strong plus)

Preferred Certifications

• EPA 608 Certification
• Motor vibration analysis certification
• Welding certifications (bonus)

Physical Requirements

• Stand or walk for long periods; occasionally sit

• Maintain close vision and adjust focus as needed for detailed work
