Industrial Mechanic- Port Reading- 1

USG employees enjoy a rotating schedule: Mon–Sat, with weekly rotation among 1st Shift (7 AM–3 PM), 2nd Shift (3 PM–11 PM), and 3rd Shift (11 PM–7 AM). Weekend overtime is typical.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety and housekeeping rules.
• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment (3-phase motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, production machines, etc.).
• Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Use hand and power tools, cranes/hoists, rigging equipment, welders, and fall-restraint systems.
• Work as part of a team, communicating and cooperating to achieve results.
• Participate in plant safety and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Adapt to scheduling requirements, including shift work, overtime, and weekend assignments.
• Become familiar with the plant work-order system.

Requirements

• Ability to perform assigned repair and maintenance tasks.
• Willingness to work the assigned rotating schedule.
• Understanding of all plant and departmental safety rules, standards, and programs.
• Meet essential physical requirements, including working at heights.
• Ability to use mobile equipment (forklifts, manlifts, Genie lifts, etc.).
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions from supervision.
• Maintain a set of personal tools as specified in the operator-rate program.

Pay

Starting hourly pay rate: $34.15–$43.40, adjusted based on qualifications and experience.
