USG employees enjoy a rotating schedule: Mon–Sat, with weekly rotation among 1st Shift (7 AM–3 PM), 2nd Shift (3 PM–11 PM), and 3rd Shift (11 PM–7 AM). Weekend overtime is typical.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety and housekeeping rules.
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment (3-phase motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, production machines, etc.).
- Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Use hand and power tools, cranes/hoists, rigging equipment, welders, and fall-restraint systems.
- Work as part of a team, communicating and cooperating to achieve results.
- Participate in plant safety and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Adapt to scheduling requirements, including shift work, overtime, and weekend assignments.
- Become familiar with the plant work-order system.
Requirements
- Ability to perform assigned repair and maintenance tasks.
- Willingness to work the assigned rotating schedule.
- Understanding of all plant and departmental safety rules, standards, and programs.
- Meet essential physical requirements, including working at heights.
- Ability to use mobile equipment (forklifts, manlifts, Genie lifts, etc.).
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions from supervision.
- Maintain a set of personal tools as specified in the operator-rate program.
Pay
Starting hourly pay rate: $34.15–$43.40, adjusted based on qualifications and experience.
