About the role

As an Industrial Mechanic at StandardAero, you will install, align and assemble stationary machinery using layout plans, hand tools, and lifting devices. You will also troubleshoot malfunctions, perform routine preventative maintenance, and recommend equipment improvements while strictly adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Installs stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Operates hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
  • Troubleshoots, inspects and examines machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Adjusts machinery and repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Understands operation of Grinders, Lathes, Mills, Ovens and Vacuum Furnaces.
  • Cleans, lubricates and performs other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Assembles machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
  • Schedules routine preventative maintenance work.
  • Makes recommendations to management and engineering for improvement of preventative maintenance practices.
  • Recommends replacement of equipment as required and assesses the condition of used equipment prior to purchase.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Machine leveling/alignments per OEM specs using precision leveling/alignment equipment.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and control systems.
  • 2 or more years of experience in the ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic.
  • 2 or more years of experience using precision leveling/alignment equipment.
  • 2 or more years of experience with machine tools, i.e., VTL’s, engine lathes, CNC mills/lathes, bake out ovens, vacuum furnaces and Fanuc controls (a plus).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
