Industrial Maintenance Technician - Weekend Shift (F-Sun 6am-6pm)

About the role

Sportech is a rapidly growing company in Elk River, MN, designing, manufacturing, and assembling cab components and systems for the powersports, golf and turf, industrial, and agricultural end markets. We are seeking dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals to join our team. This role involves managing and assisting in the day-to-day activities related to the maintenance and repair of production equipment, building, and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of preventative and routine maintenance/repairs, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing for a manufacturing facility.
• Ensure all equipment is functioning satisfactorily.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Control downtime by informing production of routine preventive maintenance and project work schedules; escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain the preventive maintenance and help request processes for applicable equipment and machinery.
• Arrange for and manage appropriate third-party contractor support, as needed.
• Detect and report defects in equipment, building, and grounds to appropriate leadership.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

• Demonstrated strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting knowledge and repair abilities.
• Ability to perform skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, machine repair, and janitorial.
• Familiarity with and ability to use all hand tools and power tools common to the listed skills.
• Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Use considerable judgment when performing tasks.
• Self-starter with a problem-solving mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Personal computer/mobile device skills, using typical programs for word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a high level of integrity.
• Exceptional communication and continual improvement skills.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair background.
• Ability to operate forklifts, personnel lifts, and snow removal equipment such as snow blowers and light plow trucks.

Qualifications

• Technical education in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred but not required.
• Welding and machining process knowledge preferred but not required.
• Ability to respond to maintenance or facilities issues on a 24-hour basis is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Some heavy lifting of objects up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to work from heights, such as from a ladder or scissors lift.
• Occasional exposure to dusts, odors, hot and cold temperatures, confined spaces, and noise in an industrial setting.

Pay

Sportech’s reasonable and good-faith estimate for new hire compensation at the time of posting for this position is $32.00 - $39.00 per hour. This includes a $27.00 - $34.00 per hour base hourly rate plus a $5.00 per hour shift differential for working weekend shifts. Pay may also include variable compensation such as overtime for non-exempt positions, shift differentials for specific shifts, and/or bonus targets (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
