Industrial Maintenance Technician II - Bowling Green, KY

Are you a problem-solver who takes pride in keeping complex machinery running at peak performance? We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team in Bowling Green. In this role, you will be the backbone of our operations, driving reliability through the troubleshooting, repair, and proactive maintenance of high-speed production and facility equipment. You won’t just be fixing machines; you will be optimizing them. From mechanical and electrical systems (up to 480 VAC) to controls and fabrication, you will apply your technical expertise to support evolving production needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair complex breakdowns in mechanical systems, conveyance, pneumatics, and liquid transfer systems.
- Electrical & Controls: Troubleshoot electrical distribution systems (480 VAC and lower), device components, and control systems.
- Execute component replacements efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM): Execute scheduled PMs during production and non-production hours to extend equipment lifespan and reliability.
- Fabrication & Modification: Perform welding, fabrication, and pipefitting to install or modify equipment for process improvements.
- System Operations: Utilize SAP to create/confirm work orders, assign parts, and track labor hours accurately.
- Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety policies (Hill’s policies). Actively "speak up" regarding unsafe situations and maintain a high standard of shop sanitation.
- Mentorship: Act as a technical resource for improvement teams and provide mentorship/training to operation technicians and junior maintenance staff.
- Material Handling: Operate tow motors (forklifts) and perform rigging as required for equipment movement.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelors of Science or Bachelors of Arts required; Engineering degree preferred.
Experience
- 10 or more years of progressive supply chain experience of which five years must be in production/operation management
- Project or process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience within or demonstrated understanding of the Quality function within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills
- Strong coaching and feedback skills required in a high performance work systems environment
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and manage in ambiguous situations
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Supply Chain related post graduate degree
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a Food Grade industrial maintenance setting, OR 5+ years of experience in general industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Must earn a passing score on the designated Mechanical or Electrical SMT Test.
- Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting, electrical systems (up to 480V), welding, and fabrication.
Compensation And Benefits
Salary Range $124,000.00 - $174,000.00 USD
Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
