Responsibilities

Inspects and diagnoses electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic components on all manufacturing and support equipment. Install, repair and program, electrical systems; Electronic components of industrial equipment; and maintaining machinery and equipment, also fabricating metal parts and tools.

  • Read and understand descriptive job duties pertaining to preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Operate, diagnose, and repair support systems such as refrigeration, HVAC, Vacuum and air compressors.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors and position sensing devices.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors.
  • Program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate and test for malfunctions, and verify repairs.
  • Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Operate and repair metal fabricating equipment such as Lathes, Mills, Welders, and cutting tools.
  • Direct and assist co-workers in installing, diagnosing malfunctions, and repairing of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatics, and mechanical maintenance of robotics.
  • Create and modify programs of PLC, Robots, and related equipment.
  • Recommend and perform measures to improve equipment quality and performance.
  • Interpret blueprints, equipment specifications, and job orders to co-workers and self.
  • Requisition of spare parts, such as electronic components and equipment parts.
  • Assist co-workers in water treatment and maintaining Ammonia system.
  • Set up and maintain equipment repair logs, blueprints, and repair manuals.
  • Set up and perform training for co-workers on maintaining and repairing equipment.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Certificate from college or technical school; or seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of robotics, PLC controllers, necessary.
  • Maintain current knowledge of state and local electrical codes.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Schedule

Personnel will be required to come in or work overtime with less than 24 hours’ notice. Personnel will be required to work without supervision. Personnel will be required to work on holidays or during shutdowns. Personnel may be required to travel overnight.
