Industrial Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Industrial Maintenance Technician at National Strand is responsible for maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and modification of industrial equipment. This role involves recommending and executing maintenance procedures, and may include additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting functions in a manufacturing environment
• High voltage experience
• DC Circuits
• PLC knowledge is a plus
• Industrial Controls
• Pneumatics and pneumatic controls and components
• Inspection of equipment and effective communication with peers and managers
• Must be able to weld using MIG and/or Stick
• Use all sorts of equipment and tools for the trade, including electrical testing tools and mechanical tools
• Must understand and follow instructions
• Must be SAFE and use appropriate LOTO procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area
• Able to read, interpret and follow mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams and schematics
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 3+ years experience working as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic with demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting. Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment desired.
• Education: High School Diploma. Technical School Certifications preferred.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication. Must be able to understand and follow directions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Technology: Strong working knowledge of MS Office, and other support software.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work rotating shifts and be available for overtime and weekend work
• Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand

Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of high voltage, DC circuits, and PLC systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams and schematics
• Proficiency in welding using MIG and/or Stick
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
