About the role
The Industrial Maintenance Technician supports the maintenance, reliability, and operational integrity of the Huntsman Advanced Technology Center (HATC).
Responsibilities
- Support the site Master Electrician in the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of the facility’s electrical infrastructure and equipment.
- Proficient in multiple industrial maintenance disciplines, including plumbing, mechanical systems, facility maintenance, and minor fabrication work.
- Maintain a safe, efficient, and reliable work environment while supporting ongoing maintenance and facility operations.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, technical manuals, and related documentation.
- Perform and document preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, inspections, and testing activities in the site CMMS.
- Execute site Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and arc flash procedures in compliance with safety requirements.
- Maintain required site safety certifications and continue progress toward obtaining a Journeyman Electrician license.
- Cookordination with contractors and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with all EH&S policies and standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair facility infrastructure systems, including waste, potable water, deionized water, and gas plumbing systems.
- Support general facility maintenance activities, including building and grounds upkeep.
- Assist with laboratory instrument calibrations, safety system testing and inspections, and site event support activities.
- Respond to urgent maintenance requests and support on-call maintenance needs as required.
- Identify and report safety hazards and participate in corrective actions.
- Support company goals through collaboration with maintenance, engineering, operations, and other site personnel.
- Participate in company-required training programs and Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience as an Electrician Apprentice is preferred.
- Strong background in electrical installations and electrical infrastructure systems is required.
- Experience with electrical equipment, motors, control panels, and power distribution systems is required.
- Exposure to Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and PLC systems is preferred.
- Experience with plumbing systems and fittings is preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools is required.
- Experience operating lifts and industrial machinery is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation is required.
- Journeyman Electrician license is preferred.
- Experience with explosion-proof electrical equipment is preferred.
- Experience working in laboratory or chemical facility environments is preferred.
- Experience with rigging, machining, fabrication, and welding is preferred.
- First responder experience is preferred.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.

Working Environment
- Monday through Friday work schedule, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Frequent work around electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and facility infrastructure.
- Exposure to industrial, laboratory, and maintenance environments.
- Use of hand tools, power tools, lifts, and maintenance equipment.
- Potential exposure to outdoor conditions and facility maintenance activities.
- Physical activities may include lifting, climbing, bending, standing, and operating maintenance equipment.
- Compliance with all Huntsman safety procedures, PPE requirements, and EH&S policies is required at all times.
