About the role
A Maintenance Technician performs a variety of intermediate to advanced maintenance tasks to support the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of equipment, machinery, and facilities. This role requires a working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. The technician works independently or with minimal supervision and may assist in mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and facility structures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and system malfunctions efficiently.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in maintenance tasks.
- Complete and document work orders using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Assist in planning and implementing facility upgrades and maintenance projects.
- Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and tools.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and company policies.
- Provide guidance or training to Maintenance Tech I staff as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and other departments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred.
- 2–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a commercial, industrial, or facilities environment.
- Proficiency with mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Basic knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
