Join Cascades as an Industrial Maintenance Technician in Schenectady, working on the shop floor to keep manufacturing equipment running while prioritizing health and safety.

Pay

Hourly wage of $29.71 to $35.44, based on skills, experience, and education.

Schedule

Full‑time position with guaranteed hours. 2nd shift 3 pm – 11 pm or 3rd shift 11 pm – 7 am (availability for both shifts required).

Responsibilities

• Review work orders, assign, and proactively attend to tasks.
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specifications.
• Service manufacturing equipment, boilers, air compressors, and electric lift trucks.
• Perform maintenance involving machining, electrical, hydraulics, steam, pneumatics, and welding.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions, confirm findings with supervisor, and decide on repair or replacement.
• Share improvement ideas with the department manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Preferably 2 years of electrical experience, proficient in voltage, distribution, code interpretation, and application.
• Ability to work without supervision and train mechanics in safe electrical practices.
• Knowledge of PLC programming, robotics, and related electronics is an asset.
• Own tools and ability to pass a maintenance skills assessment.
