Industrial Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Industrial Maintenance Technician position involves repairing, adjusting, and installing production machinery, plant blow mold equipment, and facility-related equipment. This role also includes maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable laws and regulations.
• Install, adjust, and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizers, and other related equipment.
• Inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses.
• Inspect, rebuild, and replace valves and pumps.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all related equipment.
• Maintain machines in optimal processing condition.
• Weld, fabricate, and repair various machines.
• Troubleshoot, locate root problems, and repair blow mold, baggers, and support equipment.
• Operate blow mold or injection machines as needed.
• Communicate with other departments on a frequent basis.
• May assist with unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.
• Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• 2+ years maintenance experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• OSHA Forklift certification preferred.

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts in a production environment.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
