Responsibilities
- Takes daily instruction and supervision from department lead and supervisor.
- Mechanically inclined with experience in assembling and repairing frames and fixtures, process equipment, and drives.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in electrical controls and mechanical parts of machinery.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and assembly.
- Read equipment prints and control diagrams to build machinery, enhance current processes, and troubleshoot problems.
- Able to understand production processes.
- Maintain shop area and requisition the necessary parts.
- Troubleshoot and maintain control panels.
- Work safely with a wide variety of machines and hand tools (e.g. welders, torches, drills/drill press, grinders, volt meters, band saw, spray painting, forklifts, and high lift (JLG) Light building maintenance; monitoring the building exterior and interior for maintenance needs and handling the repair.
- Monitor equipment for scheduled maintenance and repair.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on current machinery.
- Installation support for new equipment.
- Knowledge of pipe fitting, wiring, and maintenance plumbing.
- Maintain necessary maintenance logs, parts lists, and reference material.
- Communicate with department managers and machine operators to gain a working knowledge of various machines, and quickly resolve M&R issues.
- Work with maintenance system Limble.
- Issue, assign and manage work orders.
- Open and close tickets.
- Follow PMs and manage maintenance reports.
- Add additional information on equipment.
- Train others and understand the equipment.
Requirements
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team-lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Comfortable using Powered Man Lift (Genie or JLG) to service elevated machine parts.
