Industrial Maintenance Technician (6PM to 6AM)

We are located in Cheektowaga, NY, in an air-conditioned facility, and we are seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician for a 12-hour shift 6PM to 6AM. 2 Days on, 2 days off. This role was added due to more work for our facility. The successful candidate must be willing to train on 1st shift for 1 month 7AM to 3PM.

Responsibilities

• Effectively troubleshoot & repair equipment and adhere to maintenance documentation requirements
• Actively engage in workplace safety improvement initiatives
• Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs
• Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment
• Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear
• Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
• Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices
• Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery
• Must be able to frequently lift 50lbs
• Record repairs and maintenance performed
• Cut and weld metal to repair broken parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment
• Order parts / supplies as needed

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education
• Minimum of 5 years of machine repair and industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing setting is required
• Strong preference for advanced skills in both machine repair and PLC control systems repair and maintenance
• Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose machine problems
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills to coordinate schedules with machine operators and troubleshoot problems
• Computer skills required (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Knowledge of flexographic presses is a plus

Pay

Pay Range: $35 per hour or more, depending on experience. Plus 3rd shift differential of $1.50 per hour. Sign-on Bonus: $2,000 sign-on bonus is available with this position for an external candidate hire!
