About the role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and physical structures within our industrial food-processing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, piping, and electrical systems following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings using hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, measuring, and testing instruments.
• Operate grinders, saws, and drills.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment using electrical and electronic test equipment.
• Dismantle defective machines and equipment; install new or repaired parts following specifications, blueprints, and OEM manuals using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Repair or replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, pipes, and related piping system components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all operating machinery.
• Daily lubrication of machinery prior to production; perform setups and changeovers on machinery as production demands.
• Follow work orders and maintenance request forms to repair machinery as assigned.
• Adhere to all Company rules, including GMPs, Safety, PPE, Lock Out-Tag Out, and regulations prescribed by the USDA and FDA.
• Perform other related duties and special assignments as required or assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Vocational trade school or 2 to 4 years equivalent professional experience in mechanical or electrical trade.
• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
• Excellent electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Thorough knowledge of shop tools.
• Ability to write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
• Excellent reading skills; ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
• Excellent math skills, including practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, measurement, practical algebra, and geometric construction.
• Understanding of probability and statistical analysis is a plus.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) and in-house computer-based systems (e.g., SAP).
• Ability to interact with team members, customers, and vendors in a positive and professional manner.
• Basic welding skills in arc, TIG, and MIG.
• Bilingual ability is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industrial (high volume) food processing experience, particularly frozen foods.
• Knowledge of batch cooking operations, ovens, freezers, coolers, fryers, and high-speed packaging equipment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Travel throughout production areas; climb ladders; stoop, kneel, and crawl in small spaces.
• Work in office and factory environments, including refrigerated warehouses and areas with heat (e.g., oven areas).
• Push, pull, and lift occasional heavy loads (up to 75 lbs.).
• Work flexible hours based on operational needs.
• Occasionally work from heights and on roofs.
• Work under minimum supervision.

Pay

The starting rate for this full-time, hourly position is $30.00–$33.00 per hour. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
