Industrial Maintenance Tech (Afternoons) Job

About the role

Position will provide support for all electrical/mechanical problems that might arise with equipment/facilities as well as completing predictive and preventative maintenance work in a metal fabricating shop. This position would also be responsible for machine management and maintenance across the site and would lead special projects to both equipment/facilities and systems development. Position is for afternoon shift (2:45pm – 11:00pm) and may require additional hours of overtime as product demand increases.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Company and OSHA safe work practices and procedures.
• Wear all prescribed personal protective equipment.
• Ensure all proper lockout/tag out procedures are followed.
• Provide support for all electrical/mechanical and technical problems to ensure that production disruptions and downtime are minimized.
• Install, maintain, remove, troubleshoot, and diagnose a wide variety of electrical/mechanical equipment and components used in manufacturing process. Machinery includes Perforators, CNC Turret Presses, Press Brakes, Routers, Welders, Drill Presses, Powder Booths, and Ovens.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of production machinery and equipment including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and parts.
• Install, modify, and relocate machinery and equipment and perform fabrication, welding, mechanical, electrical, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, or other maintenance skills.
• Repair and modify buildings and plant systems as required.
• Troubleshoot and repair components such as rolls, shafts, bearings, drive belts, drive chains, and gear boxes utilizing basic mechanic’s hand and power tools.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, valves, and piping systems to include installation of copper pipes or PVC pipes.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and other written installation and repair instructions.
• Identify and complete predictive and preventative maintenance work and weekly mechanical inspections.
• Manage backlog of work orders.
• Organize and maintain Maintenance Area tools and equipment.
• Perform other duties as required to maintain or improve plant reliability and safety.
• Conduct daily safety risk assessments on routine and non-routine job tasks to ensure safe practices are followed.
• Lead systems development work such as standard work, training, and housekeeping initiatives throughout the plant.
• Work with minimal supervision and with outside vendors as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in an industrial environment.
• Machining and fabrication experience.
• High-level experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with Electrical/Mechanical Presses, Hydraulics, Combustion.
• Mechanical tool and die experience.
• Automation Equipment Experience.
• Demonstrated skill in working with conveyors, mechanical drive systems (gearboxes, sheaves, pulleys, belts, bearings, sprockets, and chains), pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to perform precision tasks including alignments using lasers, dial indicators, etc.

Pay

Skill-based pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour.

Schedule

Afternoon shift (2:45pm – 11:00pm) with potential overtime as product demand increases.
