About the role

Carrier in Residential furnace factory in Indianapolis seeks a high energy, data driven, result-oriented Industrial Maintenance Supervisor to lead the daily maintenance operations to ensure maximum equipment uptime, safety, and efficiency in a manufacturing environment. This role oversees skilled trades supporting stamping presses, automated conveyors, robotic systems, and PLC-controlled machinery, driving preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance technicians across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines
  • Ensure uptime and reliability of stamping presses, conveyors, robotic cells, and PLC-driven equipment (e.g., screw machines)
  • Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures, including PLC, servo, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of production equipment and automation systems
  • Enforce safety standards, LOTO compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, and spare parts inventory (i.e., CMMS)
  • Collaborate with production to minimize downtime and improve throughput
  • Develop and mentor team members; ensure technical skill progression
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (root cause analysis, TPM, Lean, reliability improvements)

Basic Qualifications

  • Aceessory degree in engineering or industrial maintenance
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • 2+ years in a supervisory role
  • Able and willing to work longer hours if required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in a union environment
  • Experience with stamping presses, conveyors, robotics (Fanuc/ABB/KUKA), and PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Siemens)
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and automation controls
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance KPIs
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Robotics diagnostics and basic programming
  • Experience in high-volume or automotive manufacturing
  • Ledan Manufacturing / Six Sigma exposure
  • Leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
