Responsibilities

  • Supports the Maintenance Leader, Planner/Scheduler, and shift leaders on jobs to be performed.
  • Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks as scheduled.
  • Reports all equipment concerns to their leaders.
  • Demonstrates skills in power transmission, air systems, piping, hydraulics, pumps, troubleshooting components, welding, alignment procedures, rigging, and millwright work.
  • Performs all equipment repairs and projects in a safe and efficient manner using all safety procedures.
  • Answers line calls promptly and carries required tools to complete work safely and efficiently.
  • Assists during process upsets as needed.
  • Wears all safety equipment necessary for the job and follows all plant safety rules and regulations, including the machinery lockout procedure.
  • Rotates shift schedule and operates equipment only when trained or authorized by a supervisor.
  • Notifies supervisor of accidents, near misses, or injuries immediately.
  • Keeps parts and tool rooms organized and cleaned.
  • Attends mandatory training classes on own time to stay current with equipment changes and as determined by the Maintenance Development Program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in the mechanical field in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Basic welding skill preferred but not required.
  • Able to work second or third shift as scheduled.
  • Able to attend mandatory training classes on own time to stay current with equipment changes and as determined by the Maintenance Development Program.

Qualifications

  • Possesses skills in the machining and/or electrical field.
  • Good understanding of structural, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Writes and speaks English.
