Industrial Maintenance Quality Controller

Position Summary

As an Industrial Maintenance Quality Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing process piping systems and have the ability to read and interpret P&ID's and Isometric Drawings, familiarity with ASME codes of construction and NBIC Part 3 for BPV repairs as well as Qualifications of Welders for a client in Decatur Illinois. Experience in removing and replacing rotating equipment and bolting up piping systems using industry best practices is a plus.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform welding inspections in accordance with applicable piping and structural code requirements
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory codes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation onsite including putting together turnover documents as required
  • Conduct inspections of mechanical equipment installations including piping installation and Hydrostatic Testing
  • Support and implement the corporate quality program at the project level
  • Collaborate with customer representatives to ensure alignment on quality expectations and code adherence
  • Identify and document non-conformances and assist in resolution efforts
  • Verify materials, procedures, and workmanship meet required standards
  • Promote a strong culture of quality and continuous improvement on site

Qualifications

  • At Least One of the Following: AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), API 570 Inspector, API 510 Inspector
  • Previously Certified Inspector
  • Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Physical Demands and Expectations

  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear, and write with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax, and other office equipment
