We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Columbia Site's maintenance team based in Gaston, SC. The ideal candidate for the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic possesses a safety mindset and applies a high degree of self-driven ownership and accountability over their duties and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventive/corrective maintenance and investigates problems with polymer production equipment including gear boxes, gear pumps, rotary air locks, polymer cutters, bagging machines, conveyor systems, heat exchangers, etc., following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety, environmental, and housekeeping rules and procedures to maintain safe and clean working environments.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, rigging, and hand/power tools.
- Conserves maintenance resources by utilizing planning and scheduling maintenance model, equipment, and supplies as needed to accomplish job results in demanding team-oriented environment.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports in SAP by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends to assure the highest equipment reliability possible for all assigned areas.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and identifying proactive needs.
- Serve on plant ERT (Emergency Response Team)
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience (i.e Mechanical equipment installation, disassembly, and assembly, millwright, pipe fitting, tooling, rigging, hydraulic, pneumatic, pumping systems, welding, etc.)
- Associates Degree or Certification in Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Program
- SAP Experience preferred
- Possess good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Possess good interpersonal skills in communication, listening, and good safety practices.
- Possess good computer skills & knowledge
- Able to follow instructions and execute job duties in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
- Must be able to work overtime, to include nights and weekends, when needed in order to meet deadlines
- Excellent safety record and ability to meet the qualifications to be on Emergency Response Team
